Terry with 25-plus points, six made three-pointers in back-to-back games
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Jalen Terry netted 25 points to lead the Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team in a tight, 71-63, loss to Cleveland State Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Wolstein Center.
Eastern led, 61-59, with less than four minutes left, but CSU scored the game's next nine points.
Terry (Flint, Mich./Beecher/Oregon/DePaul) drilled six three-pointers for the second-consecutive game after scoring 28 points at IU Indy, Nov. 14.
How it Happened
Eastern controlled the game in the early stages, taking a 14-8 lead on a Terry three-pointer 6:30 into the contest.
An 18-8 run by the Vikings switched momentum in the favor of the hosts, which led 37-33 at the intermission.
The Vikings led by as many as nine at the 12:21 mark but the Eagles responded with a 17-8 run to lead 61-59 with 3:57 to play.
CSU netted the game's next nine points to take control and take the victory.

» Eastern moved to 2-2 overall while Cleveland State moved to 3-2 overall.
» Eastern Michigan was 23-of-56 (41.1%) from the floor and 7-of-20 (35.0%) from three-point range while Cleveland State was 27-of-52 (35.7%) from the field and 5-of-14 (35.7%) from deep.
» Terry's six three-pointers matched his career high, which he did at IU Indy, Nov. 14. Terry also made six three-pointers with DePaul against Marquette, Jan. 24, 2024.
» Terry's two blocks equal his career high, which he achieved twice with DePaul, most recently Jan. 17, 2024, against Providence.
» Christian Henry (Chicago, Ill./The Skill Factory/Panola College) tallied a career-high six assists while adding 13 points.
» EMU, the MAC's leading offensive rebounding team entering the day, recorded 14 offensive boards and has double-digit offensive rebounds in the season's first four games for the first time since the 2020-21 season.
» Eastern Michigan outrebounded Cleveland State, 34-29. EMU has outrebounded its foe in three of the four games this season.
» The Eagles were outscored in bench points by a 22-6 margin.
Historical Notes
» EMU moved to 24-10 against Cleveland State, making its first trip to CSU since Dec. 9, 1992.
» Terry is the first Eagle since Tyson Acuff to score at least 25 points in consecutive games. Acuff netted 26 points at Buffalo, Feb. 20, 2024, after scoring 34 against Bowling Green, Feb. 17, 2024.
» Eastern, which hit seven threes against Cleveland State, has now hit at least one triple in 617-straight games. EMU last failed to score from downtown Jan. 24, 2004, when Miami University held the Eagles to 0-of-7 from behind the arc. The Eagles have converted multiple three-pointers in 39-straight contests, not having done so most recently in a 1-for-15 performance against Akron, Feb.14, 2023.
