Eastern Soccer Records Seventh Clean Sheet at BGSU

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team recorded its seventh clean sheet of the 2024 season as the Eagles battled Bowling Green State University to a scoreless draw in a Mid-American Conference clash Thursday, Oct. 24, at Cochrane Stadium.
How It Happened
The first half consisted of five total shots as redshirt sophomore Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) made a 17th-minute diving save.
Senior Meagan Lukowski (Bay City, Mich./Bay City) put Eastern's first shot on-frame in the 56th-minute, volleying a corner kick from sophomore Kate Robinson (Madison Heights, Mich./Lamphere) but had the shot saved to highlight the teams' second-half chances.
BGSU outshot the EMU by a 10-4 margin while the Eagles held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.

» Eastern moved to 5-6-5 (1-3-5 MAC) on the year while Bowling Green moved to 6-5-4 (3-3-3 MAC) for the season.
» Holland was credited with three saves in her eighth career clean sheet.
» Sophomore Sarah Van Euwen (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) and redshirt sophomore Scarlett Thomas (Sterling Heights, Mich./Utica Academy/Missouri) each played 90 minutes, marking Van Euwen's 14th full game of the season and Thomas' 11th. Senior Sam Lenaghan (Toronto, Ontario/Havergal College) played the full 90 minutes for the second time this season while sophomore Rosalie Takacsy (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) did so for the first time in her career.
» Redshirt sophomore Sophia Baumann (Romeo, Mich./Romeo) made her first career start and junior Hannah Thompson (Schoolcraft, Mich./Schoolcraft) made her first start of the season.
