Rice Earns CSC Academic All-District Honors

Sophomore one of 157 NCAA Division I players up for CSC Academic All-America accolades
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The College Sports Communications (CSC) announced their 2022-23 Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team today, Feb. 21, with Eastern Michigan University sophomore Kevin-David Rice (Flint, Mich.-Grand Blanc-Delta College) earning a selection.
To be eligible for the district team, student-athletes must have been at their current school for at least one full academic year, appeared in 50 percent or more of the team's games this season, is a starter or significant contributor to the team, and maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.50 or better. Rice met those standards as the Flint, Mich., native has appeared in 18 games this season and earned a start in three. He is averaging 3.9 points and 1.8 rebounds while ranking second on the team in three-point shooting as he is connecting at a 37.9 percent clip.
One of 157 men's NCAA Division I student-athletes selected for the honor and one of just five from the Mid-American Conference, Rice is now eligible to earn CSC Academic All-America accolades. Voting by current CSC members, which concludes Feb. 28, will be used to determine those student-athletes that will be named First-, Second-, and Third-Team Academic All-America with the recipients being named mid-March.
