Tyson Acuff Named Second-Team Preseason All-MAC

Eagles picked 11th in preseason coaches’ poll
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Junior Tyson Acuff (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech/Duquesne) was named Preseason Second-Team All-Mid-American Conference as the Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team was picked to finish 11th in the conference, the MAC announced Wednesday, Nov. 1, after polling the conference's 12 head coaches.
Acuff started 30-of-31 games in 2022-23, averaging 14.7 points per game to go with 2.7 rebounds per game, and a team-leading 2.8 assists per game. His 81.3 free throw percentage ranked eighth in the MAC. Acuff also led EMU with 1.3 steals per game.
His season was highlighted by a 36-point output against the University of Toledo, Feb. 11, which was the third-highest point total by a MAC player in the 2022-23 season.
Acuff enters the 2023-24 season with 667 career points and 90 career made three-pointers as Eastern Michigan is scheduled to open the 2023-24 season at Butler University Monday, Nov. 6, at 8 p.m. at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
