YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University is dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable game day experience for all alumni, students, and fans. As we prepare to celebrate this year's Homecoming, Eastern Athletics and the EMU Department of Public Safety have implemented the following protocols to be in place on Saturday, Oct. 1, for the Eastern Homecoming Football game against the University of Massachusetts.
PREMIUM TAILGATE PACKAGE
New in 2022, a one-time, Homecoming Tailgate Premium Package is available for purchase. Priced at $50, the package provides exclusive early access for tailgating groups. Those who purchase the package will be able to secure their tailgating space and complete their tent/tailgate setup Friday, Sept. 30, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. These fans will have access to the best tailgate space, including grassy areas as well as larger areas with enough room for increased tent and grill capacity. Moreover, the lots will be fully secured and managed by a security company through the night, so that purchasers can feel at-ease about the protection of their items. Those who purchase the premium package will then be able to access the lot at 8 a.m. on gameday, one hour before the general public.
The package can be purchased by clicking here.
TAILGATE LOTS
All parking lots surrounding Rynearson Stadium and the George Gervin GameAbove Center will open at 9 a.m. on the morning of Oct. 1. No cars will be permitted in the Rynearson Lots across Hewitt Street before 9 a.m., and only individuals with a DONOR LOT, VIP, or STAFF Parking Pass will be permitted to park in the George Gervin GameAbove Center lots. VIP Parking Passes are available and valid at all 2022 Eastern Football home games. To purchase a VIP Parking Pass, call the EMU Athletics Ticket Office at 734.487.3669.
Parking spaces in the Rynearson Lots will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis, as directed by the gameday parking staff. In order to provide the safest experience for everyone in the tailgate lots, spaces cannot be saved for individuals who have not arrived, and vehicles must be in a designated parking space.
Grills and tents 10-foot by 10-foot are permitted within the tailgate lots under the expectation that they are set up and operated safely.
FAMILY TAILGATE
Those looking for a family-oriented tailgate can choose to utilize the designated "family tailgate" areas, which will be located at the north and south ends of the Rynearson Stadium lots. Gameday attendants will be on site to help serve all individuals on gameday who may have questions or need help with directions/parking.
RECREATIONAL VEHICLES
Fans planning to bring a recreational vehicle (RV) to Rynearson Stadium for Homecoming will only be permitted to park within the George Gervin GameAbove Center VIP Lot. A VIP Parking Pass will be REQUIRED to park an RV within the lot. Call 734.487.3669 to purchase a VIP Parking Pass in advance of Oct. 1.
Anyone wishing to stay overnight in an RV on Friday, Sept. 30, into Saturday, Oct. 1, must contact Diana Young in the EMU Department of Public Safety.
OVERFLOW PARKING
In the event that parking lots around Rynearson Stadium and the George Gervin GameAbove Center reach capacity, overflow parking will be available at the EMU Intramural Softball Fields off of Westview Street. Individuals will be directed from Huron River Drive onto Westview Street into the overflow parking. A pedestrian route is available from Westview Street to the Rynearson Stadium entrances via Champions Drive, running between the St. Joe's Sports Dome and Rynearson Stadium. The EMU Department of Athletics will also provide golf cart shuttles from the lots to the stadium that will run during pregame, and following the game for one hour.
Additional overflow parking will be available on the grass lots located at both the north and south ends of Rynearson Stadium, on Hewitt Road.
