The former Michigan Mr. Basketball Candidate is set to return home after a season at Providence

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball program and Head Coach Stan Heath have added yet another impressive transfer to the team's 2022-23 roster, this time inking forward Legend Geeter (River Rouge, Mich.-River Rouge (Providence)), the team announced today, May 6.

A 6-foot-8 forward, Geeter returns to the Mitten State after beginning his collegiate career at Providence College, where he played for one season under Head Coach Ed Cooley. He did not see game action in 2021-22.

A 2021 candidate for the highly-coveted Mr. Basketball honor in the State of Michigan, awarded to the state's best high school player, Geeter attended River Rouge High School and played under Head Coach Lamonta Stone. He averaged 16 points, 10 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game while helping lead River Rouge to a 20-1 mark during the 2020 campaign. He was the cornerstone of the River Rouge team, which was ranked as the No. 1 program in the state in The Detroit News' "Super 20" and was in line to play for a district title before the COVID-19 pandemic halted the season. For his efforts, he earned Division 1 First Team All-State honors as awarded by The Detroit News. One of the most sought-after recruits in the state following his prep days, Geeter was ranked as the 48th-best power forward nationally and the fifth-best in Michigan by 247Sports.com in 2020-21. Additionally, he was ranked as the 37th-best power forward in the nation by Rivals.com.

In addition to high school basketball, Geeter also played AAU ball for The Family.
