Day One Results

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) –
The Eastern Michigan University diving team finished day one of the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships today, March 7, inside the Canham Natatorium.

The women participated in the 1-meter dive today and will compete in the 3-meter dive tomorrow, March 8, to complete the diving championships.

How It Happened
The Eagles were led by senior Bethany Berger (Batavia, Ohio-Glen Este) who placed 11th in the preliminary round of the 1-meter dive with a score of 269.60. The senior improved on her placement in the finals, finishing 10th with a 551.90 mark.

Sophomore Keira Veltigian (Oxford, Mich.-Oxford) finished 32nd in the preliminary round with a score of 238.25. Freshman Camryn Hughes (London, Ontario-Sir Frederick Banting Secondary) placed 28th with a mark of 246.95 while classmate Rebekah Knapp (Mesa, Ariz.-Skyline) placed 49th with a score of 221.45.

Berger must place ninth-or-better in tomorrow's event in order to qualify for the NCAA Championships, March 16-19.
