Two Eagles Picked in Baloncesto Superior Nacional New Entry Draw

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University basketball team saw two seniors drafted into the Baloncesto Superior Nacional, Puerto Rico's professional league today, March 1. Monty Scott (Union, N.J.-Saint Benedicts Prep (Portland State)) was selected in the second round, 14th overall, by the Gigantes de Carolina, while Darion Spottsville (Phoenix, Ariz.-Shadow Mountain (South Mountain C.C.)) was picked in the same round, 17th overall, by the Grises de Humacao.
The draw was held at Studio 1 of Telemundo Puerto Rico and was attended by representatives of the 12 participating teams in the BSN. The 2022 season will begin on April 9, 2022.
M. Scott joined Eastern Michigan after previously playing at Portland State last season. This year, the guard has scored 273 points as an Eagle, averaging 10.5 points per game, while adding 57 assists, and 32 steals. The Union, N.J. native scored in double-digits in 13 contests this season, including a stretch of 10-straight games.
After two seasons at South Mountain Community College, Spottsville joined EMU ahead of the 2019-20 season, and was named a captain for this year's squad. In his 78 career games so far as an Eagle, he has tallied 416 points and 163 assists. The Phoenix, Arizona native earned the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court award for academic excellence twice and was named to the Academic All-MAC team last season. Additionally, He has led the Eagles in assists 24 times.
