Tennis Releases 2022 Spring Schedule

The Eagles will play a total of 13 doubleheaders this spring
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University tennis Head Coach Jayson Wiseman announced the 2022 spring schedule today, Jan. 10. The slate includes four home doubleheaders and two home dual matches.
"We are very excited about this year's schedule," said Wiseman. "We have a lot of matches against a ton of great competition. We feel like our non-conference slate should have us well prepared for our MAC schedule, and we believe we have an opportunity to be very competitive in the conference this year."
Eastern Michigan starts the spring season at Marshall, playing the Thundering Herd and Murray State Jan. 28. The Eagles host their first home matches of the season, taking on Cleveland State and Lawrence Tech. Feb. 4, at the Chippewa Club.
EMU travels to the Windy City to take on Chicago State and Nebraska-Omaha, Feb. 11, before heading to Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Feb. 12. The following day, Feb. 13, Eastern will play at Valparaiso and at Holy Cross College (Ind.). The Green and White then return to Michigan to compete at Northwood and at Michigan State, Feb. 18. On Feb. 25, The Eagles tackle another doubleheader playing at Butler and then at Bellarmine, before closing out the month February with a trip to Mercer in Macon, Georgia, Feb, 26.
Kicking off March, Eastern travels south to UCF to take on the Knights and then the University of Charleston, March 3, before playing Oakland, March 5. After a short break, the Eagles will start conference matches with a home doubleheader against Toledo and Tiffin, March 20. Five days later, the team will head to Kalamazoo, Mich. to challange Western Michigan, March 25. The Green and White end the month at Bowling Green, March 27, for a doubleheader against the Falcons and Lourdes.
Eastern Michigan starts the final month of the season at home with another doubleheader featuring Ball State and Wayne State, April 1. Two days later on April 3, they travel to Miami to play the Redhawks and the Dayton Flyers, back-to-back. On April 8, the squad competes at Northern Illinois, followed by a home doubleheader against Buffalo and Ferris State, April 10. EMU closes out it season at home versus Northern Illinois (April 15), Western Michigan (April 22), and on the road against Ball State (April 24). The Mid-American Conference Championship is scheduled for April 30- May 1, with Ball State hosting the tournament in Muncie, Ind.
