EMU GameDay Protocols for Fall 2021 Announced

After 21 long months, we will all be back together in The Factory again
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – We cannot wait for Sept. 3 to get here and we know you feel the anticipation too. After 21 long months, we will all be back together in Rynearson Stadium again.
A lot has changed in that time and to better prepare everyone for returning to games on campus, we wanted to share our latest game day information. In accordance with EMU COVID-19 guidelines, the protocols for fans attending Eastern Michigan home games are outlined below.
This policy is subject to change from CDC and the Washtenaw County Health Department (WCHD). While we anticipate this policy to last throughout the duration of the fall sports seasons, please continue to check this page for updates.
While there will be no health screenings at the gates, fans must not come to the stadium if they are not feeling well and have symptoms of COVID-19.
The symptoms of COVID-19 include:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Fall Sports
Outdoor venues (Scicluna Field, Oestrike Stadium)
- Face masks will not be required but are strongly encouraged in outdoor public spaces, with the exception of restrooms.
Indoor venues (Convocation Center, Bowen Field House)
- All home volleyball matches will require fans to wear face coverings, regardless of vaccination status, unless actively eating or drinking.
Rynearson Stadium (seating bowl/general outdoor areas)
- Face masks will not be required but are strongly encouraged in outdoor public spaces (entry gates, concourse, seating bowl, etc.).
- Fans are required to wear a face covering when inside restrooms or the Convocation Center, regardless of vaccination status.
Rynearson Stadium Suite Level
- All suite guest are required to complete a COVID PASS Daily Health Screening to identify symptoms of COVID-19.
- Pursuant to the University’s mask policy as of Aug. 9 and Washtenaw County Health Department guidance, anyone attending will be required to wear a mask at all times with the exception of eating/drinking. With limited spacing, we do ask that your mask be worn at all times unless you are actively eating/drinking.
- The University strongly encourage all attendees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Guests who are vaccinated are welcome to upload their vaccination information to the University’s certification site managed by EMU Telehealth. Private information is not shared or communicated. Please select the visitor box and select “Suite Guest”.
- Space and seating will be limited this year as we limit our overall capacity and provide physical distancing within each suite. We ask that you and your guests remain in your seats with minimal movement as we are being mindful of traffic flow and trying to limit congestion.
Public Transportation
- Masks will continue to be required for all campus public transportation, including game day ADA and student shuttles.
Winter Sports
- Final decisions on winter sports will be made closer to the start of their respective seasons.

COVID-19 WARNING
You must follow all Eastern Michigan University and venue policies, including health and safety policies, and posted instructions while in the venue and on venue grounds. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting EMU Athletic venues, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
