Each week a number of Eagles will be honored for their success in competition
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMUCU's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week.

Eastern Michigan junior righty Justin Meis went 2-0 on the week for the Eagles in his two appearances, May 11 and 15. Against Toledo, May 11, the Pittsburgh, Pa. native tossed a scoreless inning with one strikeout to aid in the Eagles' both consecutive and second shutout of the season, marking the first time an EMU team has posted back-to-back strikeouts since the 2007 season. Against Northern Illinois, May 1, the junior nearly tossed a complete game, throwing 6.1 innings while striking out six and allowing just two runs in the Eagles' win over the Huskies.
