Baseball Picked to Finish Ninth in the MAC

Eastern received 36 points in the survey of league head coaches
CELVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Mid-American Conference announced that the Eastern Michigan University baseball team has been picked to finish ninth in the league in its annual preseason poll, released today, Feb. 17.
Central Michigan was picked to finish first for the second consecutive season, receiving 111 points and four first-place votes, followed closely by Kent State with 110 points and five first-place votes. Miami and Ball State tied for third place, each receiving 96 points, with the RedHawks also receiving one first-place vote. Northern Illinois rounded out the top-five with 72 points and one first-place vote.
Western Michigan (63 points), Ohio (56 points), and Toledo (45 points) finished sixth through eighth, respectively, with Eastern Michigan following in ninth place with 36 points. Bowling Green and Akron completed the poll, earning 28 and 13 points for 10th and 11th places, respectively.
The Eagles will open the season next Friday, Feb. 26, in Montgomery, Ala. as they take on Alabama State for a three-game set.
