A total of 10 winners will walk away from EMU’s men’s hoops’ home opener with great prizes

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Basketball is back, and the Eastern Michigan University men's team will debut at home for the first time during the 2021-22 season when it hosts Illinois State University Friday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m.
The game will also be the first inside the Convocation Center for EMU alumnus and newly-appointed men's basketball Head Coach Stan Heath. A three-year letterwinner at EMU from 1985-87 and 17-year head coaching veteran, Heath returned to the Ypsilanti campus to become the program's 30th head coach on April 12, 2021.
To celebrate the return of basketball and help welcome Coach Heath back to campus, the EMU Department of Athletics is today announcing a series of giveaways that will only be available to those in attendance for the Nov. 12 home game.
In addition to the in-game amenities and entertainment that fans are accustomed to, 1,000 attendees will also leave the game with a special gift; A commemorative, specially wrapped "Stan Heath Bar," will be given away upon exiting the Convocation Center. Still the fan-favorite toffee that everyone knows, this bar will be wrapped in a custom EMU-themed wrapper, which also includes special offers for upcoming games.
The treats do not end there. A total of 10 bars will contain special "golden tickets," that entitle the recipient to unique and exclusive Eastern Michigan experiences.
The prizes will include the following:
-Two lucky winners will have the chance to join Heath for a private dinner inside the Convocation Center.
-Three additional winners will be invited to join Heath, his staff, and the 2021-22 team at one of their upcoming practices (typically closed to all outside individuals). There, they will have the chance to meet with and interact members of the program.
-Multiple winners will receive custom, not-available-for-purchase adidas gear bags.
-One winner will receive an exclusive gift basket from an EMU corporate sponsor.
If the chance to win great prizes is not enough, EMU is also offering the first 1,000 attendees the chance to take home a commemorative ticket to honor Coach Heath's first home game. These will not be available to those not in attendance at the game.
Additionally, fans can expect to see Head Football Coach Chris Creighton and his team in attendance. There's no better opportunity to see Creighton and the team during yet another historic season on the gridiron in Ypsilanti. The team is bowl eligible for the sixth time in history and fourth time since 2016.
Do not forget to stop by the atrium of the Convocation Center ahead of the game, because attendees will have the chance to walk through an interactive display featuring EMU memorabilia from a multitude of sports. Game-worn jerseys, trophies, original mascot costumes, and more, will be available to check out.
Of course, fans can also look forward to the game. EMU's revamped roster features an exciting mix of returners and high-level transfer students. Eastern is already off to a 1-0 exhibition start after an impressive showing at Oakland, Oct. 28.
The only thing that will be missing is zone defense, and EMU can all but promise it won't be returning anytime soon!
