YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Former Eastern Michigan University men's basketball standout Boubacar Toure (Dakar, Senegal-Phase One Academy (Grand Canyon)) signed a one-year professional contract with a trial period until Aug. 30 for Chorale Roanne Basketball based in Roanne, France.

"I am very excited to start this new chapter of my life. It's been a long and tough ride to get to this point and the real work is yet to begin," added Toure. "I want to thank the EMU coaching staff for helping me throughout this journey. I'm looking forward to playing in Roanne and making the best out of this opportunity."

The center started all 32 games for the Eagles and led the MAC with a 65.5 field-goal percentage (144-of-220) during the 2019-20 season. The 7-foot Toure ranked first on the team with 9.3 rebounds per game, while averaging 10.7 points per game. His rebounding average was good for fourth in the conference. In MAC play, the Dakar, Senegal native was one of three student-athletes who averaged a double-double (11.4 ppg; 10.3 rpg).

Toure tallied 13 doubles-doubles during the 2019-20 campaign, with his most recent performance coming in the first round of the MAC Tournament at Kent State with 14 points and 13 rebounds, March 9.

Not only did Toure help the MAC's second-best defense by clearing the glass, but he also finished fourth in the league with 44 total blocks (1.4 bpg). The redshirt senior anchored EMU's signature 2-3 zone as he posted 14 games with multiple swats, including a career-high five blocks against Central Michigan, Feb. 29.

Toure finished his EMU career with 31 double-figure scoring performances, 21 double-doubles, and led the Eagles in rebounding 34 times. His 65.3 career field-goal percentage (252-of-386) is the best in program history, and his 86 career blocks are good for ninth in the team's record book.

The club plays in the first division LNB Pro A or known as the Jeep Elite, which is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France.
