Women's Track and Field Places 19 on Academic All-MAC Team

Olivia Chandler and Mair Edwards were among 10 student-athletes to record a 4.0 GPA
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Mid-American Conference announced that 19 student-athletes from the Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team were named to the Academic All-MAC Team today, April 1.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Kent State leads the conference with 23 student-athletes receiving Academic All-MAC honors, while Eastern Michigan ranked second in the conference with 19 student-athletes earning academic honors. Additionally, sophomore Olivia Chandler (Brighton, Mich.-Brighton) and Mair Edwards (Basingstoke, England-The Costello School) were two of the 10 student-athletes to record a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Along with Chandler and Edwards, the Eagles named to the Academic All-MAC Team were: redshirt senior Emily Smith (Somerset, England-Wells Cathedral School); seniors Brittni Mason (Richmond Heights, Ohio-West Geauga) and Gianna Salzbrunn (North Aurora, Ill.-Montini Catholic); juniors Kadian Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica-Immaculate Conception), Madison Distelrath (Fort Wayne, Ind.-Homestead), Keypathwa Gibson (Toledo, Ohio-Roy C. Start), Savanah Luthman (Minster, Ohio-Minster), and Graysen Simmons (Huber Heights, Ohio-Wayne); sophomores Tiffany Cernej-Garcia (Ann Arbor, Mich.-Pioneer), Morgan Iverson (Hoschton, Ga.-Mill Creek), Kaitlyn St. Bernard (Newport, Mich.-Jefferson), Lexi Seifert (Waterford, Pa.-Villa Maria Academy), Arianna Short (Joliet, Ill.-Joliet West), Alysse Wade (Mansfield, Ohio-St. Peter's), Nina Ward (Fairfield, Ohio-Fairfield), Chevonne Wheeler (Redford, Mich.-Divine Child), and redshirt freshman Brenna Cavanaugh (Bentleyville, Pa.-Bentworth).
