The Feb. 8 contest will tipoff at 2 p.m. from James A. Rhodes Arena
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan-Akron men's basketball game, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8, will tipoff at 2 p.m. inside Akron's James A. Rhodes Arena. The game will be shown nationally on ESPN+ and WEMU (89.1 PM) will provide audio coverage.
The Eagles and the Zip will meet on the hardwood for the 53rd time in history between the two programs, with Akron holding the all-time series lead, 30-22.
The last time the Green and White were victorious in Akron, Ohio was Feb. 1, 2010 when the Eagle posted a 62-59 win. The 2009-10 squad eventually made it to the Mid-American Conference quarterfinals, but fell to No. 3-seeded Akron in double overtime, 97-89.
