Tim Bond Joins Knicks for NBA Summer League

The 2018 MAC Defensive Player of the Year begins his run with the Knicks July 5
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Former Eastern Michigan University men's basketball star Tim Bond (2014-18) came to an agreement with the New York Knicks to join its squad for the upcoming National Basketball Association (NBA) Summer League.
Bond, the 2018 MAC Defensive Player of the Year, as well as a member of the Eastern Michigan 1,000-point club, will make his debut with the Knicks in the Las Vegas Summer League Friday, July 5, against the New Orleans Pelicans. The guard spent the 2018-19 season as part of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Houston Rockets. The Vipers went on to win the G-League championship.
The Baltimore, Md. native finished his playing career in Ypsilanti with 1,056 points, 490 rebounds, 238 steals, and 107 blocks. Bond set the record for single-season steals (85), career steals (238), and was named to the Mid-American Conference All-Defensive team a record three times.
NBA Summer League begins Friday, July 5, and runs through Monday, July 15. The NBA announced that, in addition to the 30 NBA teams competing this summer, both the Chinese and Croatian National Teams will join the 11-day, 83-game competition.
