YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics released a redesigned version of the Championship Building Plan Wednesday, April 3, at EMUChampionshipBuilding.com. The Championship Building Plan is a facilities plan and vision that strategically and ambitiously pursues to make Eastern Athletics the class of the Mid-American Conference.

Currently under construction, phase one of the Championship Building Plan is the Student-Athlete Performance Center located in the north endzone area of Rynearson Stadium. This transformational facility  will provide state-of-the-art space for sports medicine, strength & conditioning, equipment operations, and give our football team and coaches a place to call home.

Furthermore, it will dramatically improve football game day experience for students, alumni and fans will be made possible through the largest video board in the MAC at 60-feet wide by 40-feet tall.

Phase two of the Championship Building Plan, which will be released during the 2019-20 academic year, will focus on Eastern Athletics' Olympic sports programs. New and renovated facilities to impact all programs are under evaluation with the aspiration to impact all EMU student-athletes, the campus, and community.

Additionally, the final location for the Championship Bricks has been selected. All bricks will be featured in a  18-foot wide x 16-foot tall Block E at the north entrance to the Student-Athlete Performance Center. This area will be highly trafficked by student-athletes, coaches, staff and visitors. The deadline to order bricks is Saturday, April 13.
