Men's Hoops Picked Sixth in West in MAC Preseason Poll

The Eagles open up their season Nov. 8 against Siena Heights
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team was selected to finish sixth in the West Division of the Mid-American Conference as the league office announced its 2019-20 preseason poll today, Oct. 31.
In the East, Bowling Green emerged as the favorite to win the division, as it received nine first place votes and totaled 69 points. Following behind the Falcons in the East Division was Buffalo, the reigning MAC East Champions, which received three first place votes and accumulated 58 points. Kent State came in third with 43 points, followed by Miami (37), Akron (33), and Ohio (12).
In the West, Toledo dominated the voting, receiving 11-of-12 first place votes and totaling 69 points. Northern Illinois followed with 58 points, while Ball State came in third with 51 points and one first place vote. Rounding out the East Division is Central Michigan (41), Western Michigan (23), and Eastern Michigan (16).
Bowling Green was also selected as the favorite to capture the MAC Tournament crown, collecting six championship votes, while Toledo gathered two, and Buffalo, Kent State, Miami, and Northern Illinois each received one.
