Women's Cross Country Picked to Four-Peat in MAC Preseason Poll

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team was chosen to finish first in the Mid-American Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the league office announced Wednesday, Aug. 29. This is the third consecutive season EMU has been picked to finish atop the MAC.
The Eagles, who are coming off their third straight conference championship, received six first-place votes. Toledo closely followed EMU, selected to finish second with four first-place votes, while Miami received one vote, slotted at third. Northern Illinois (fourth), Bowling Green (fifth), and Buffalo (sixth) round out the top half of the tally, while Central Michigan, Ohio, Akron, Ball State, and Kent State respectively complete the women's poll.
EMU opens its regular season Friday, Aug. 31 when it travels to Toledo, Ohio to take part in the Toledo Rockets Invitational. The women's 4k is schedule to begin at 6:30 p.m.
