YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMUCU's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are women's track and field athlete, Natalie Cizmas, and baseball athlete, Max Schuemann.

She started her weekend off competing in the 1500m, where she broke the program record with a time of 14:16.83, besting the old top time of 4:18.09 that was set in 1987. That mark currently ranks second in the conference and fourth in the country for the season. Additionally, in the second day of competition, Cizmas raced to an outdoor personal-record 800m time of 2:09.58 to place fifth in the event. That mark moved her up to eighth all-time in the EMU outdoor record book, and serves as the new top time in the conference thus far this season.
