COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - One day after earning All-American accolades in the 100 breaststroke, junior Delaney Duncan (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) of the Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving team concluded the 2017-18 season with another sensational showing in the 200 breaststroke at the 2018 NCAA Championships Saturday, March 17.
Coming into the race seeded 44th, Duncan shaved over two full seconds off of her fastest 200 breast time to clock a blazing time of 2:08.91. Duncan's 14th-place finish secured herself a lane in the consolation heat and All-American Honorable Mention recognition.
In the evening session, the Galesburg, Ill. native dropped one-tenth of a second off her prelims time to clock in at 2:08.80, good for a 14th-place finish, which also now serves as the fastest time in EMU's laurels.
Saturday's races marked the end of the season for the Eagles, who finished the 2017-18 campaign with an 8-1 record in duals, including an unblemished Mid-American Conference record of 4-0.
