Jordan Nobles Named MAC West Player of the Week

This marks the first time that Nobles has earned the weekly conference honor

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University men's basketball redshirt sophomore Jordan Nobles (Canton, Mich.-Canton) led the EMU men's basketball team to a 98-72 victory over Long Beach State, Dec. 29, on his way to being named the Mid-American Conference West Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, Jan. 3. It is the first time that Nobles has earned the award in his career.

Nobles put together a career night versus the 49ers, notching a career-best 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including one long ball, while making all four of his free throw attempts. Additionally, the Canton, Mich. native set a career-high in assists with six, while the 6-foot-9 forward grabbed eight rebounds and blocked three shots. Over the last five games, Nobles has averaged 12 points per game, while grabbing 6.8 rebounds per contest over that span. He has notched double-digit scoring performances in four of those five games, while adding 10-or-more rebounds in a pair of contests during that stretch.

Eastern is now set for MAC play Tuesday night, Jan. 3, when it hosts Central Michigan. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center.
