Eagles of the Week Presented by EMU Financial

Each week two Eagles will be honored for their success on the field
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMU Financial Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are soccer player Ellie Tillar and volleyball player Kelly Ferguson.
Ellie Tillar
Sport: Soccer
Position: Midfield
Year: Redshirt Senior
Major: Special Education
Week's Achievements: Tillar fueled a second half comeback to help the Eastern Michigan University women's soccer team defeat Oregon State University, 2-1, Sunday, Sept. 11. With her team trailing 1-nil, Tillar volleyed a cross past the OSU keeper to even the score at one in the 47th minute of play. The goal marked her second of the season. In addition to leading the team in goals scored this season, Tillar has scored in back-to-back games for the first time in her career.

Kelly FergusonSport: Volleyball
Position: Middle Blocker
Year: Junior
Major: Communications
Week's Achievements: Ferguson was named to the College of Charlston Classic All-Tournament team after helping lead her team to a 2-1 weekend record. The junior led the squad with a blistering .368 kill percentage. Her 38 total kills was second on the team, but she was the leader in kills per set.
