NASSAU, Bahamas (EMUEagles.com) -
The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team cruised to a 107-77 victory Friday night, Aug. 27 over the Caribs.  The 30-point victory was EMU's largest in their Caribbean voyage.

The Eagles were once again led by their dynamic guard redshirt senior Raven Lee (Detroit, Mich.-Romulus), who went 12-of-15 (81 percent) from the field and knocked down 5-of-7 three pointers (71 percent) for a game-high 29 points.  Fellow senior guard Ty Toney (Alpharetta, Ga.-Alpharetta (Georgia Highlands College)) was right behind Lee with 28 points, including a perfect 9-of-9 from the free throw line.

The other Eagles in double figures were sophomore James Thompson IV (Baton Rouge, La.-Parkview Baptist), who finished with 15, while senior Willie Mangum IV (Richmond, Va.-Marshall (San Jacinto College)) had 14 points.  Elsewhere on the stat sheet, junior Tim Bond (Baltimore, Md.-City College High School) dished out a game-best six assists, while junior Lamar Wofford-Humphrey (Flossmoor, Ill.-Homewood-Flossmoor (Butler C.C.)) had the only double-digit rebounding performance with 10.

As a team, the Green and White shot 60 percent (39-of-65) from the field, and a sterling 56 percent (10-of-18) from beyond the arc.  They were also 90 percent (19-of-21) from the free throw line.  Staying true to their defense-first mentality, the Eagles also notched 17 steals on the evening.

This concludes the game action in the Bahamas for Eastern.  The 2016-17 schedule will be released at a later date.
