Eagles of the Week Presented by EMU Financial

Each week two Eagles will be honored for their success on the field

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMU Financial's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's swimmer Andrew Henry and wrestler Dakota Juarez.

Week's Achievements:   
Senior Andrew Henry's record-breaking performance at the Mid-American Conference Championships, March 2-5, fueled Eastern Michigan to its 33rd MAC title. Henry was named Outstanding Swimmer after winning both the 100 and 200 Freestyle while also being named to the All-MAC First Team. The Garner, N.C. native set the school record in each of the events while also making a case for the NCAA Championships later this month. In addition to his individual wins, Henry swam a leg on two of EMU's MAC Champion relay squads, both of which set school, pool, MAC, and meet records.

Week's Achievements:  
Juarez was the top Eagle finisher at the 2016 Mid-American Conference Championships, March 5-6.  The 165 pounder scored two upset victories on his way to a runner-up finish at his weight class.  The second-place finish scored him an automatic bid into the NCAA Championships, the first of his career.  As the No. 6 seed, he began the weekend by knocking off the No. 3 seeded wrestler from Ohio by tight 3-2 decision.  He followed that up by defeating the No. 2 seeded and nationally ranked Cooper Moore of Northern Iowa in the semifinals by 4-3 decision.
