YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University men's track and field alumnus, and current volunteer assistant coach, Donald Scott, competed at the USA Track & Field Indoor National Championships this past weekend, March 11-12, in Portland, Ore. Specifically, Scott competed in the triple jump, taking fourth.

Competing against some of the top triple jumpers in the nation, Scott narrowly missed finishing within the top-three, ultimately placing fourth. Posting a mark of 16.71 meters/ 54 feet 10-inches, the EMU record holder was less than nine inches from taking third. Additionally, he was just .13 meters away from his collegiate best jump of 16.84 meters/ 55 feet 3-inches at the 2015 NCAA Indoor Championships.

While with the Eagles, Scott had an incredible career, as he was both the EMU and the Mid-American Conference record holder in the triple jump for both indoor and outdoor seasons. In addition to being the best triple jumper in program history, he was also an accomplished long jumper, holding the third-best jump in the EMU record books.  Scott was named a First Team All-American as a senior in both the 2014-15 indoor season and the outdoor season after posting top-three finishes at the national championships.
