Each week two Eagles will be honored for their success on the field
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMU Financial's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player Raven Lee and gymnast Lacey Rubin.

Week's Achievements:
Lee had a career day in a 94-69 win over Miami, Feb. 2. The redshirt-junior dropped a career-high 46 points in just 24 minutes of game time. The 46 points was just one point shy of tying the all-time scoring record in EMU history and tied the single-game scoring mark in the 2015-16 season. Lee also shot 9-of-11 from three point range, tying the EMU record for treys in a game. His points and three pointers made were also Convocation Center records. Lee followed that performance up with another double-digit scoring effort against Buffalo, Feb. 6, finishing with 11 points.

Rubin turned in another banner performance, helping her team to a record-breaking 195.600 in a home meet against Central Michigan, Feb. 5. Rubin finished with a 9.875 on bars, which was good for first, and a 9.80 on beam, which was good for third. Her bars score was also a career high, and put her in a tie for No. 3 in EMU program history. The junior has turned in three straight incredible meets, notching five scores of 9.8 or better in that timeframe. Two weeks ago, she scored a 9.875 on beam as well, also putting her in a tie for No. 3 in the EMU record books. She has been very consistent this season, with her only missed routine coming in the season opener.
