Each week two Eagles will be honored for their success on the field
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMU Financial's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's track and field athlete Willy Fink and women's track and field athlete Alsu Bogdanova.
Willy Fink
Sport: Men's Track and Field

GPA: 3.87
Major: Chemistry (Master's)
Week's Achievements:
Fink led the Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team to a runner-up finish at the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships, Feb. 26-27. Individually, Fink had a fantastic two days, winning a pair of events. In the 3000m, the Green and White swept the podium, with Fink taking home the crown and posting a time of 8:14.63. The team also took home the top-three spots in the 5000m, as the Maumee, Ohio native once again led the way and crossed the finish line in 14:32.74. Currently, the redshirt junior is ranked in the top-50 in both events, with his top-ranking coming in the 3000m where he is No. 8.

Bogdanova helped the Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team repeat as Mid-American Conference Indoor Champions this past weekend, Feb. 26-27. Bogdanova had a stellar meet, winning two events and placing third in another. On the first day of competition, the junior led a one-two punch in the 5000m, crossing the finish line in 16:29.91, setting a new MAC Championship record in the process. Her success carried over to day two, where she also was crowned the mile champion by clocking in at 4:53.58. Finally, the Kazan, Russia native also nabbed a third-place finish in the 3000m.
