Eagles of the Week Presented by EMU Financial

Each week two Eagles will be honored for their success on the field
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMU Financial's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Brennan Williams and softball player Abi Clark.

Week's Achievements:
Williams paced the Eagles' offense in a 3-1 weekend to start the season for EMU baseball. The sophomore DH hit a scorching .500, recording seven hits in 14 plate appearances. One of the hits was a two-run home run, the first of his career, and was a part of six RBIs on the weekend. Racking up 11 total bases, Williams finished with a .786 slugging percentage. Not just a power threat, Williams stole two bases on two attempts as well. His offensive efforts helped lead EMU to its best start since the 1994 season.

Clark fueled the Eagles to a 4-1 mark at the EMU Madeira Beach Invitational, Feb. 19-21. Clark boasted a team-best .462 batting average on the weekend, with one home run and 11 total bases. Her long ball was one of three by the Eagles in a back-to-back-to-back sequence. She also carried a slugging percentage of .846 and an on-base percentage of .588 for the weekend, reaching base in all five games.
