Eagles Tabbed Third in MAC Preseason Poll

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University women's gymnastics team was selected to finish third in the Mid-American Conference, the league office announced today, Dec. 20, as part of the MAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Kent State paced the voting, while Central Michigan sat in second. The Eagles, who tied with Bowling Green, were selected third. Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, and Ball State rounded out the seven teams in the conference. Each team received one first-place vote in the poll.
Last year, EMU was selected to finish third as well, improving upon their fifth-place selection from two years ago. After winning the MAC Championship and qualifying to regionals for the first time in program history last season, Eastern will look to once again perform better than their preseason ranking in Head Coach Sarah Brown's debut season.
The Eagles kick off the 2017 campaign with a home bout against Kentucky, Friday, Jan. 6. Action from the Convocation Center is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
