The Eagles will offer three camps in June and July

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University softball team has announced dates for its 2015 summer camps. After completing the 2015 season with a five-game improvement from a season ago and breaking the all-time home run record, the Eagles are set to host their 2015 summer camps.

The Green and White will first host a 3 Day Elite Eagle Summer Camp, June 15-17, at Varsity Field. The Elite Player camp will be an intense three day All Skills Camp which will cover hitting, pitching, catching, infielding, outfielding and base running. The camp is designed as a boot camp for high school age players to challenge themselves in every way. The camp will also cover fundamentals as they are the building blocks for softball, but will be designed for the elite player, while the skills and drills will challenge participants to be a better player and teammate.

The camp will last from 9 a.m.-noon and is open to any and all participants in high school. The camp is limited to the first 50 players and costs $150.

Along with the player camp, the Eagles will also be hosting a Elite Team Camp, June 15-17 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The team camp will have different Division I coaches running a two hour college level practice. The teams will have one practice day of all defense, one day of all offense and one day of both offense and defense over the three day camp.

For the team camp, interested participants will sign up as a team and will be one of four participating teams. The cost is $560 per team and $40 per athlete for a team of 14 players.

Following the Elite Eagle Summer Camps, EMU will host a pitching and catching camp, June 24. Participants will have the opportunity to work with collegiate coaches to hone their pitching and catching skills in the three hour camps that goes from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Varsity Field. The cost for the pitching and catching camp is $50.

Finally, Eastern will host Eagle Summer Camps, July 14-15, at Varsity Field. The player camp will be an intense three day All Skills Camp which will cover hitting, pitching, catching, infielding, outfielding, and base running. The camp is designed to lay the fundamental ground work with day one and build on those skills each day, culminating with advanced age and appropriate skill work on day three.

The camp is open to any and all participants ages 10-14 and costs $100.

Along with the player camp, the Green and White will also be offering a team camp that will have different Division I coaches running a two hour practice specific to your team. The teams will have a different lead coach each day so that they can see different idea. Teams will have one day of defense, one day of offense, and one day of both offense and defense.

For the team camp, interested participants will sign up as a team and will be one of four participating teams. The cost is $420 per team and $30 per athlete for a team of 14 players.
