YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – For the second consecutive year, EMU Athletics is "All In" after an internal staff campaign to reach 100 percent giving participation to EMU through Eagles Pride, the fundraising arm for Athletics that supports all 21 varsity sports at Eastern Michigan.
More than 80 full-time coaches, staff and administrators participated in the effort that kicked off in September, totaling over $17,000 in funds donated to EMU.
"Our coaches and staff are committed to helping build our department not just with their work ethic and passion but as people invested in our program and our student-athletes," added EMU Vice President and Director of Athletics Heather Lyke. "I am so grateful for all they do to make our student-athletes experience unique and memorable.
"100 percent giving participation two years in a row is a tremendous testament to the care and dedication that EMU Athletics coaches, staff and administrators have for our University and student-athlete community," remarked Associate Athletic Director for Development Dan McLean. "We can't thank them enough for the work they do every day to make athletics a point of pride for our University and for going above and beyond through personal financial contributions toward the betterment of Eastern Michigan."
We invite all alumni and friends of Eastern Michigan University to continue this positive momentum and support our student-athletes through giving to Eagles Pride.
Having the full support of the athletic department is only the beginning. Athletic Development is now working on a Student-Athlete 'All In' Campaign for 2016, completing 'sport clubs' related to specific giving efforts for each varsity sport and a major gift society for the benefit of athletics capital project endeavors.
Alumni and fans have a variety of ways to give back to Eastern Michigan Athletics. Those options include: becoming a season ticket holder and going to games, supporting EMU student-athletes through becoming a member of Eagles Pride, investing in the future of the department with a contribution of a major gift for facilities upgrades or a planned gift to leave a legacy at Eastern Michigan.
