YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – On Sunday, Dec. 6 the Eastern Michigan Department of Athletics, with the volunteer efforts of more than 60 EMU student-athletes, held the second annual Student-Athlete Thank-A-Thon in "The Factory" at Rynearson Stadium. Eagle student-athletes volunteered their time to make over 900 personal thank you phone calls to calendar 2015 Eagles Pride donors.
"Our student-athletes understand the importance of connecting with our donors and making these personal 'thank you' calls," added EMU Vice President and Director of Athletics Heather Lyke. "They enjoyed the conversations they had with our friends and donors and know how meaningful their gifts are to the department."
"Our student-athlete community recognizes, values and appreciates the enhanced experience they receive at EMU because of generous contributions from alumni, friends and families of EMU Athletics," said EMU Associate Athletic Director for Development Dan McLean. "We were so proud of their understanding, effort and willingness to volunteer their time to make a connection with our donors."
EMU Athletics would also like to acknowledge and thank corporate partner, Marco's Pizza for providing meals for the day.
Alumni and fans have a variety of ways to give back to Eastern Michigan Athletics. Those options include: becoming a season ticket holder and attending games, supporting EMU student-athletes through becoming a member of Eagles Pride or investing in the future of the department with a contribution of a major gift for facilities upgrades or a planned gift to leave a legacy at Eastern Michigan.
