Basketball Teams Lace Up 4 Cancer

EMU will don special shoe laces to benefit pediatric cancer research

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's and women's basketball programs have announced a special pediatric cancer awareness game in support of the Go4TheGoal's "Lace Up" campaign. The promotion will coincide with the doubleheader to be played Saturday, Jan. 16, in which the men's team hosts Bowling Green State University at 2 p.m. and the women's team squares off against Kent State University at 4:30 p.m.
As part of the event, there will be several promotions to help promote the campaign and help make Go4TheGoal's mission a success.
There will be a raffle event taking place for a chance for lucky fans to win men's and women's basketball season tickets, as well as exclusive EMU adidas gear. The raffle will start immediately following the men's game, with all of those who attend the game receiving two tickets automatically for going to the game. Additional tickets can be bought for just two dollars more.
Fans who purchase tickets for the raffle can automatically redeem them at the women's game, which will immediately follow the men's game. The drawing will take place during the women's game with the winners being announced at halftime.
In addition both the men's and women's teams and coaches will wear special laces as part of the event to promote Pediatric Cancer Awareness.
