YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- For the first time ever, Eastern Michigan University Athletics will be counting down the top stories of the 2013-14 athletic year.  The list is being released one at a time throughout the summer, ending with the No. 1 story of the year July 21, 2014.

No. 13: Wrestling Wraps Up Competition at NCAA Championships

The 2014 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships marked the fifth consecutive season in which Head Coach Derek DelPorto sent two-or-more grapplers to the competition. Last season, the Eagles sent two wrestlers to Des Moines, Iowa for the national tournament, while four EMU grapplers made the trek to the NCAA Championships in 2012 where heavyweight Wes Schroeder became the first EMU wrestler since Phillip Plowman (133 lbs.) in the 2006 season to advance to in the championship bracket.

Redshirt-seniors Jared Germaine, Phillip Joseph and Brandon Zeerip as well as redshirt-sophomore Vincent Pizzuto represented the Eastern Michigan University wrestling squad at the 2014 NCAA Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla.  (FOR FULL RELEASE CLICK HERE)
