Women's Diving Completes First Day of NCAA Zone C Diving Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com)--Four members of Eastern Michigan University's women's diving team made the trip to Columbus, Ohio to compete in the first day of the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, March 13.

Hosted by Ohio State University, the Zone C Diving Championships is one of five competitions nationwide that determines the field for the NCAA Diving Championships.  On the first day, the women competed in the 1-meter dive, with three athletes going through to the finals round.  Redshirt senior Danielle Hulvey (Pickerington, Ohio-Pickerington) was the only member of the Green and White to land in the top-10, as her mark of 578.25 was good for seventh.  Also placing in the top portion of the field were Lauren Dark (Chelsea, Mich.-Chelsea) and Melynee Saya (Nashua, N.H.-Nashua), who took 12th and 16th, respectively.

The team will move on to the 3-meter dive tomorrow, March 14.  Results can be accessed through divemeets.com.
