YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) --  From all of us here in the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics, we wish you a safe and happy holiday season.

While the University is closed for winter break from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1, athletic competition continues.

Many of our 2014 successes would not have been possible without YOUR genuine and loyal support.  Here are a few highlights:
 
The Twelve Days of EMU Christmas
 
On the first day of Christmas, our Eagles gave to us,
A gray field in the Fac-tor-y.
 
On the second day of Christmas, our Eagles gave to us,
2 Cross Country Champs (Victoria Voronko and Willy Fink)
And a gray field in the Fac-tor-y.
 
On the third day of Christmas, our Eagles gave to us
3 more points than Michigan (1st Men's basketball win over Michigan since 1997!)
2 Cross Country Champs
And a gray field in the Fac-tor-y.
 
On the fourth day of Christmas, our Eagles gave to us
4.0 GPAs (our student-athletes had 62 of these last year!)
3 more points than Michigan
2 Cross Country Champs
And a gray field in the Fac-tor-y.
 
On the fifth day of Christmas, our Eagles gave to us
5 hundred Cartwright winners (EMU's 500+ student-athletes received the 2013-14 MAC Cartwright Award as the conference's best in academics, athletics and community service)
4.0 GPAs
3 more points than Michigan
2 Cross Country Champs
And a gray field in the Fac-tor-y.
 
On the sixth day of Christmas, our Eagles gave to us
6 new traditions (NLI Signing Day, Factory Unveiling, Movie in the Factory, Season Premiere Dinner, Party in the Paint and Thanks Donor Giving)
5 hundred Cartwright winners
4.0 GPAs
3 more points than Michigan
2 Cross Country Champs
And a gray field in the Fac-tor-y.
 
On the seventh day of Christmas, our Eagles gave to us
7 hundred books donated (by our student-athletes to local elementary schools last year)
