Heather Lyke brings an exciting energy to the athletic department as the fall season begins
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Vice President and Director of Athletics Heather Lyke are sending one message across campus and the community of Ypsilanti and that message is "Eagles Unite". With just over a month on the job, Lyke is looking to unite the student-athletes, coaches, university staff, community members and all students within the Eastern Michigan family.
"The next stage in our department's journey is an exciting one," said Lyke. "We have the unique opportunity to build a culture of comprehensive excellence at EMU. Every member of our team plays an essential role in this process. Only together as a department, university and community will we reach our full potential. Everyone must unite."
As the department strives toward academic and athletic excellence, Lyke looks to provide coaches and student-athletes with the opportunity to be successful both on and off the field, including increasing Eastern Michigan's Reese and Jacoby Trophy standings. EMU is dedicated to providing these student-athletes with a positive experience throughout their time at the university. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and its staff will play a vital role in committing their time to impacting each student-athlete in a positive manner and continuing a winning tradition at Eastern Michigan.
