– The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team completed day two of the Hillsdale-Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Mich. while also ending day one of the Lyle Bennett Open in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., April 26. The Green and White also had a representative at the WCU Open in West Chester, Pa.

Sophomore Solomon Ijah grabbed two more event wins in the decathlon to finish the competition in first place. Ijah tallied 6,967 points for the fourth-highest decathlon score in EMU history. The Murrieta, Calif. native claimed the 110-meter hurdles as well as the discus throw en route to his event victory. Teammates Levi Selvig and David Papenhagen finished fifth and seventh, respectively.

Nick Petro placed fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:08.19 while fellow Eagle Cody Chabola crossed the finish line in 9:43.27 for the 21st position.

In day one of the Lyle Bennett Open at Central Michigan University, freshman Julius Collier took runner-up in the javelin throw with a personal-best toss of 164-feet 09.00-inches (50.23 meters). Anthony Jones led the Green and White in the hammer with a fourth-place throw of 163-feet 03.00-inches (49.77 meters). Captain Teron Turner and sophomore Andrew Wentz finished the field event in sixth and eighth, respectively.

Ryan Brumfield won the long jump at the WCU Open with a leap of 22-feet 03.00-inches (6.78 meters) while also taking the bronze in the high jump.

The Eagles wrap up the weekend with the conclusions of both meets, Saturday, April 27.
