YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com)-- Eastern Michigan University's women's swimming and diving team secured its third victory in-a-row with a win over in-state rival Oakland University, Nov. 9. The 168-125 victory improves the Eagles' overall record to 3-2, while Oakland drops to 4-2.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com)-- Eastern Michigan University's women's swimming and diving team secured its third victory in-a-row with a win over in-state rival Oakland University, Nov. 9. The 168-125 victory improves the Eagles' overall record to 3-2, while Oakland drops to 4-2.
The first victory of the afternoon came with a 1-2-3 sweep in the 200 free. Freshman Grace Van Allen (Indianapolis, Ind.-North Central) claimed the top spot with a time of 1:52.63, followed by sophomore Becca Detro (Carmel, Ind.-Carmel) and freshman Sierra Wagner (Huntsville, Texas-Huntsville). Another freestyle sprint win came to the squad thanks to sophomore Mary Kate MacLean (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-Detroit Country Day) touching in at 23.78 in the 50 free.
The Green and White nabbed top finishes in the 100 and 200 butterfly, as junior Jessie Godlewski (Apex, N.C.-Apex) led a trio of Eagles in the 200 fly, followed by senior Jackie Swartz (Centerville, Ohio-Centerville) and freshman Carly Jackson (La Porte, Ind.-La Porte). Swartz raced to a first-place finish in the 100 fly with a 56.38 as Jackson claimed the second-place spot.
Junior Monica Dorszewski (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) won both breaststroke events, touching in at 1:03.91 and 2:18.93 in the 100 and 200 breast, respectively. Freshman Genna Worthley (Portland, Maine-Deering) finished second in the 100 breast less than one second after Dorszewski.
Redshirt-senior Danielle Hulvey (Pickerington, Ohio-Central) paced the diving team with winning performances on the 1- and 3-meter springboards, scoring over 300 points in both.
The meet ended with another Eagle victory, as Wagner, Detro, MacLean, and Van Allen headlined the 400 free relay team that won by a margin of more than three seconds with a time of 3:30.02.
The squad will travel to Toledo, Ohio to take on the Rockets of the University of Toledo, Saturday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. to close out the first half of Mid-American Conference action for the season.
