Emig and Hendricks to Represent Eagles at NCAA Championships

The pair will compete in Auburn, Ala., March 15-17
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Two members of the Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving team will head to Auburn, Ala. to participate in the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, March 15-17.
First team All-MAC selections Briana Emig and Kelly Hendricks will compete with some of the nation's top athletes after qualifying earlier this season.
Emig will partake in the 1,650 and 500 freestyle events as well as the 400 individual medley. The junior recently medaled in those events at the 2012 Mid-American Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, placing third in the 500 free in 4:47.59, the 400 IM in 4:19.30 and the 1,650 free in 16:16.89. Emig currently owns the eighth-fastest 1,650 time in Division I thanks to her 16:03.51 performance on Dec. 2 at the EMU Invitational.
Hendricks will compete in both the one and three meter dives this week. She posted the top score in the MAC during the regular season on the three meter boards (346.20) as well as the third-best time on the one meter (301.28). At the 2012 MAC Championships, Hendricks won the one meter title after tallying a score of 311.00 in the finals. On the three meter, she took eighth with a 300.85, B Consideration mark.
Auburn University will also stream the preliminary and finals sessions on Thursday, while ESPN will stream the Friday and Saturday finals at WatchESPN.com. Links can be found below:
