EMU and Pakmode Media and Marketing Strengthen Partnership

Contract renewed for 2011-12 and will include digital media strategy
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics has renewed and strengthened its partnership with Pakmode Media + Marketing for 2011-12.
In addition to improving upon the University's corporate partner program, Pakmode Media + Marketing will now manage the Athletic Department's digital media campaign, including all aspects of the organization's social media strategy.
"We were very pleased with the efforts of Pakmode Media + Marketing last year and we are excited that the partnership has not only been renewed but has been expanded to include a digital media strategy for 2011-12," EMU Director of Athletics Dr. Derrick Gragg said of the new contract.
Hiring a local company like Pakmode Media + Marketing locally shows EMU's dedication to supporting a marketing strategy that is both genuine and strategic. The relationship between Pakmode, owned by EMU graduates Bilal Saeed and Tim Adkins, and the EMU Athletic department began in 2010 and is a win-win for both organizations.
"Knowing how much EMU has done for Bilal and I makes our relationship even more humbling," said Tim Adkins, Pakmode co-owner. "In such tough economic times, it feels great to contribute to the financial well-being of an institution like EMU."
Pakmode takes a comprehensive and cohesive approach to traditional marketing. Particularly with EMU, they focus on creating relationships rather than selling sponsorships. According to Pakmode, developing mutually beneficial opportunities lays the groundwork for strong, lasting relationships within the athletics program.
Building a digital presence through social media is a great way to manage new and existing relationships with EMU's fans. Plans to use social media to connect fans with the players, teams and even the corporate partners are currently underway.
