• Broke the school-record for punting average at Miami, Sept. 11, after racking up four punts for 198 yards for a 49.5 yard average.
Haley Stein Volleyball
• Broke the school-record for digs after recording 55 against Western Michigan, Oct. 8. The mark is also tied for fourth-most digs in NCAA Division I history in a five-set match.
Kevin Lanier
• Trumped a 10-year-old heptathlon record at the Grand Valley State University Holiday Meet in Allendale, Mich., posting a score of 5,224 points in the seven-event contest. The previous record of 5,102 points was held by Dave Stewart, which he set in 2000.
Cassie Schrock W. Basketball
• Broke the school-record for games played in a career, as well as free throws made and attempted.
• Became the EMU single-season assist leader with 189 dimes, surpassing Erika Ford's standard of 186 set in 2004-05
Tavelyn James W. Basketball
• Set the EMU single-season record for points in a season. With an average of 17.4 points per game, the Detroit native finished the season with 642 points, breaking her own mark of 641 points in 31 games during the 2009-10 season.
Sarah Johnson W. Golf
• Claimed the MAC Women's Golf Individual Championship finishing at even-par 216 for the tournament, including a one-under par effort in the final round. Johnson becomes the first EMU player to win individual medalist honors since the program began prior to the 1996-97 campaign. Johnson finished seven strokes ahead of the rest of the field, and turned in scores of 72-73-71 in the championships. The previous best individual finish by an EMU golfer was a third-place effort by Catherine Fortin (2007), Stephany Fleet (2009) and Robyn Scott (2010).
Zach Leonard Baseball
• Became EMU's all-time hit king as he recorded three hits versus Western Michigan, April 24, giving him 275 for his career and moving him past Derrick Peterson ('04) for the top spot.
Terefe Ejigu M. Outdoor Track
• Outshined a field of 36 elite athletes to take first place in the 5,000-meter championship run at the historic Penn Relays. The second-year runner posted a time of exactly 14:00.00, barely edging out Eastern Kentucky's Soufiane Bouchikhi who ran a 14:00.52. The time was Ejigu's career-best, shaving close to 20 seconds off of his previous best of 14:19.62 from one year ago at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic.
Team Awards/Accomplishments
Football
• EMU trailed by 21 points Saturday, Oct. 16, as Ball State raced out to a 21-point lead midway through the second quarter before the Eagles mounted the biggest comeback in school history. Eastern rallied to out-score the Cardinals, 41-17 the rest of the way for the 41-38 overtime win. The only other EMU team to rally for 20 points or more was the 2000 squad that came back from a 32-12 deficit to score 27 unanswered points to defeat Northern Illinois, 39-32, Nov. 11, in Rynearson Stadium.
Volleyball
• The 19-game improvement from five wins in 2009 to the 24 victories this season was the largest in school history. The previous standard of a 12-game turnaround came during the 1990 campaign, when the Eagles went from 18 victories to 30 wins, and again in 2001, when EMU improved from seven wins to 19. The 1993 team posted a 10-game improvement and the 1999 squad finished with a nine-game improvement.
M. Cross Country
• Set records in the total time of top five scorers (161:16) at the Western International, as well as the best average time of top five runners (32:15.2), surpassing the previous records set by the Eagles in 2007.

The total represents a six-percent increase compared to the same stretch during the 2009-10 athletic campaign. Additionally, the school's broadband channel, Eagle All-Access, has streamed 67 live events and produced more than 160 hours of original programming during the 2010-11 athletic year. Nearly 1,100 subscriptions were placed for the collaborative project between the EMU Athletic Media Relations Office and SIDEARM Sports.
