Since August 2010, nearly 700,000 people have logged on to EMUEagles.com

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — With another record-setting season both athletically and academically coming to a close for Eastern Michigan University, the amount of people taking notice of the accomplishments has also come in a record-breaking way.

Nearly 700,000 people logged on to the school's official athletic web site, EMUEagles.com, between August 1, 2010 and May 16, 2011. The total represents a six-percent increase compared to the same stretch during the 2009-10 athletic campaign.

Launched in December 2005 in conjunction with Syracuse, N.Y. based SIDEARM Sports, EMUEagles.com has recorded nearly four million visits and more than 19 million page views in its five short years online.

Additionally, the school's broadband channel, Eagle All-Access, has streamed 67 live events and produced more than 160 hours of original programming during the 2010-11 athletic year. Nearly 1,100 subscriptions were placed for the collaborative project between the EMU Athletic Media Relations Office and SIDEARM Sports.

In its first season in 2009-10, Eagle All-Access streamed 50 live events for a total of 125 hours of programming.

The future looks bright for Eastern Michigan's web reach in the 2011-12 year. Besides continued in-depth coverage of the Green and White, EMU will be unveiling its first mobile application for Android devices in the fall. This new app will provide users with easier access to the latest headlines, in-game statistics and scores. The applications will also have a “Fan Buzz” feature that provides insight into how often EMU is being discussed by people on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Fans will also be able to view photo galleries and other useful information.
