YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving dropped their dual-meet matchup to the Oakland University Grizzlies today, Nov. 12, 140-160, at Jones Natatorium in Ypsilanti, Mich.
The loss brings the Eagles to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the Mid-American Conference.
EMU won seven of 16 events on the afternoon, with Briana Emig, Jacquelyn Swartz and Sara Ghaffari each notching multiple wins for the Eagles.
Emig paced the Green and White with two first place finishes on the day. She posted the fastest times in the 500 and 200 Freestyle events.
Swartz was first to finish in the 200 Butterfly event as well as the 200 Individual Medley, racing to times of 2:04.33 and 2:06.96, respectively. She would later place second in the 100 Butterfly, completing the distance in 57.20.
Ghaffari was first to touch the wall in both the 50 Freestyle (24.00) and the 100 Free (52.21).
Kelly Hendricks was the top competitor on the one-meter boards, tallying 298.65 points for a first-place finish. Danielle Hulvey would place second in the event with 278.32 points.
Monica Dorszewski placed second in both the 100 and 200 distances in the Breaststroke events, recording times of 1:06.35 and 2:2.60, respectively, while Amanda Kiefer was runner-up in the 200 Backstroke in 2:10.84.
The Eagles will return to action on Dec. 2 for the EMU Invitational. The meet is slated for a 3:30 p.m. start time.
