E-Club Launches E-Room United Fund Drive

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The E-Club, EMU's varsity letter winner club, is excited to announce the launch of the E-Room United Fund, a fundraising effort to support enhancements and renovations to the E-Room. The E-Room is the E-Club's football game day hospitality area and has been a central gathering point for former letter winners from all sports for nearly two decades.
The E-Room is a special place that brings to life the wonderful memories and traditions of 150 years of Athletic history at EMU. It also highlights the many activities of the E-Club, including the Athletic Hall of Fame, the Scholar-Athlete Banquet and the Letter Jacket Ceremony. Open at halftime of home football games for all current E-Club members, the E-Room is filled with friendship, fellowship and tightens the bond between former letter winners…Normalites, Hurons, and Eagles alike!
The University will be investing in repairing some structural issues to the room in the weeks ahead and the E-Club is committed to raising at least $10,000 to $20,000 in gifts and pledges by June 30, 2010 to enhance the look and feel of the space to help properly represent the prestige and success of EMU Athletics through the years. This newly renovated space will also be available to all teams to hold special events throughout the year. Corporations and individuals that make gifts of $1,000 or more (payable over four years) will be recognized in the renovated E-Room on a leadership giving plaque.
The E-Club hopes that all former letter winners and all those who care about EMU Athletics will unite behind this effort and make a gift to the E-Room United Fund. The E-Club is an official Alumni Chapter chartered by the EMU Alumni Association. It was founded in 1974 as a replacement for the Varsity Club which existed some years earlier. Since then, the chapter has enrolled members from all years and teams of EMU Athletics. The E-Club was recognized by the Alumni Association as Alumni Chapter of the Year in 1996, 2002, and 2008.
