Leonard and Rhoad Named to MAC All-Tournament Team

Leonard batted .500 in the tournament, while Rhoad hit a tournament-best four homers.

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - Eastern Michigan University sophomore third baseman Zack Leonard (Canton, Ohio-McKinley) and senior outfielder Kyle Rhoad (Fostoria, Ohio-Elmwood) have been named to the to the Mid-American Conference All-Tournament team, the MAC announced today, May 23.

 

In four games, Leonard batted .500 (8-for-16), tying for the seventh best average in the MAC Tournament. He belted two home runs, including a go-ahead three-run shot in the eighth inning of EMU's 19-16 win over Ball State University, May 20. Leonard, last year's MAC Tournament MVP, tallied seven RBI and scored four runs in the Eagles' four games this past week.

 

Rhoad notched a tournament-best four home runs in four games for the Eagles, as he finished the week batting .375 (6-for-16) with six runs scored and seven RBI to help the No. 7 seed Eagles to a 2-2 record. In EMU's 13-4 win over No. 3 Ohio University, May 22, Rhoad went 4-for-5 with three homers, five RBI and three runs scored.
