Football Players Serve as Celebrity Judges for Depot Town Chili Challenge

Proceeds from the event benefited the SOS Community Service
YPSILANTI, Mich. – Eastern Michigan University football players Zach Johnson (Springboro, Ohio,-Springboro) and Tyler Palsrok (Vicksburg, Mich.-Vicksburg) recently served as celebrity guest judges for the Depot Town Chili Challenge to benefit SOS Community Services, March 7. The event gave participants in the community a chance to taste ten different types of chili from five restaurant locations in historic Depot Town.
This year's winning chili was Sidetrack's Cheeseburger Chili. Aubree's Bison Chili came in second place and Sidetrack's Cha Cha Chili came in third. Others participating in the challenge were The Ypsilanti Food Co-op, Cafe Luwak and the Corner Brewery.
Other celebrity judges included Jessica Webster from WEMU Radio, Diane Keller of the Ypsilanti Chamber of Commerce President, Mayor Paul Schreiber and Susan Oppat of the Ann Arbor News.
SOS Community Services is a non-profit organization that provides critical services to homeless families and children throughout Washtenaw County.
