BOLWING GREEN, Ohio
– The Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving team remains in fourth place with 322.5 points after three days at the Mid-American Conference Championship meet. The Eagles had three NCAA 'B' cut times during Friday's, Feb. 27, action.
 
Miami is currently in first place with 430 points, with Ohio in second at 398.5 and Toledo in third at 397.5 points. Buffalo is in fifth place with 233 points, Akron in sixth with 226, Bowling Green is in seventh with 199 points and Ball State is eighth with 132.5 points.
 
The Eagles picked up their first number one finish of the Championship meet, with senior Alissa Ricard (Tucson, Ariz.-Catalina Foothills) winning the 200 free in 1:46.23, setting a Cooper Pool record. The time was also an NCAA-B cut time. Fellow senior Hannah Burandt (Parma, Ohio-Parma) took seventh in 1:49.41.
 
Freshman Samantha Partridge (Carmel, Ind.-Carmel) placed fourth in the 400 IM, finishing in 4:20.06 while Leeza Moser (Vicksburg, Mich.) took sixth with a time of 4:20.95. Sophomore Elisa Torres (Antioch, Calif.-Deer Valley) then finished eighth in the 100 fly, hitting the wall in 55.96.
 
The Eagles had another pair of top-eight finishers in the 100 breast, with Ashley Durand (Lincoln, Neb.-Southeast) taking fifth with a 'B' time of 1:02.50. Chelsea Allard (Walnut Creek, Calif.-Lake Forest (Ill.)) placed seventh with a time of 1:02.98, also a 'B' time. Freshman Sarah Maraskine (Midland, Mich.-Dow) finished the day for the Green and White with a time of 56.42 in the 100 back, giving her seventh place.
 
The Championship meet will conclude Feb. 28, with finals beginning at 7 p.m. at Cooper Pool. The 1,650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, three-meter dive and 400 freestyle relay events are set for tomorrow.
